Mace has been named winner of the ESG Best Performer of the Year at the Green Awards 2026, recognised for a disciplined and evidence-backed approach to ESG that delivered clear, measurable results across environmental, social, and governance dimensions through a robust in-house performance framework.
The award, announced on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, reflects an organisation that has built ESG into its operational fabric rather than treating it as a reporting obligation.
Judges were direct in their assessment, saying, "This entrant stood out for its clear, disciplined approach to ESG and the strength of results delivered. Mace demonstrated strong leadership through a robust in-house framework measuring performance across 30 indicators spanning human, intellectual, natural, and social capital."
"The inclusion of SEDEX membership and Fair Tax accreditation reinforced solid governance credentials, while clear reporting and tangible outcomes showed ESG embedded meaningfully across the organisation," the panel added.
The ESG Best Performer of the Year recognises organisations that move beyond strategy documents to show ESG working as a live, measurable discipline across the business. Mace's submission met that test across every indicator the award applies, offering a practical model for organisations seeking to embed ESG with the same rigour they bring to commercial performance.
As the Green Awards near their two-decade milestone, Mace joins a growing cohort of winners demonstrating that strong ESG performance is built on the same foundations as any other area of business excellence: clear objectives, consistent measurement, and the organisational discipline to deliver against both.
