Lyreco Ireland has been named winner of the ESG Best Performer of the Year (1000+ Employees) award at the Green Awards 2026, recognised for an ESG programme that impressed judges with the pace and ambition of its commitments across both environmental and social performance, backed by external verification and embedded across the full breadth of the organisation.

The award, announced on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, reflects a business that has approached ESG not as a reporting framework but as a genuine operational and cultural discipline.

Judges were clear on what made the entry shine. "This entrant stood out for its ambition, pace, and the depth of commitment shown across both environmental and social performance. Lyreco Ireland impressed with bold decarbonisation targets backed by external verification, alongside strong participation in EcoVadis and the Carbon Disclosure Project.”

“What truly set this apart was the scale of social impact, from progressive workplace policies and supplier diversification through Buy Social Ireland, to meaningful employee engagement supported by dedicated volunteering leave. Achieving EcoVadis Gold and A-List supplier recognition, the organisation demonstrated ESG leadership that is inclusive, transparent, and embedded across the business," the panel also stated.

The ESG Best Performer of the Year (1000+ Employees) recognises large organisations whose ESG programmes go beyond ambition to deliver verified, measurable progress across environmental, social, and governance dimensions. Lyreco Ireland has met that standard across every criterion the award applies.

As the Green Awards near their two-decade milestone, Lyreco Ireland joins a cohort of winners demonstrating that ESG leadership at scale demands the same strategic clarity, evidenced outcomes, and organisation-wide commitment as any other dimension of business performance.
