A licensed waste recycling site on the outskirts of Cork City has been listed for sale at around €2.2 million, offering investors and recycling firms a rare opportunity to acquire a fully operational facility in Ireland’s growing green economy.

Located on New Line Road in Glanmire, the 1.85-acre Green Dragon Recycling site holds a permit for processing up to 12,000 tonnes of material annually — a licence that can take up to five years and over €350,000 to secure. The site includes two large warehouse-style units totalling more than 1,100 square metres, both purpose-built for heavy recycling and logistics activity.

Unit 1 spans approximately 650 square metres with 8-metre eaves and reinforced concrete structures, while Unit 2 measures about 510 square metres and offers articulated drive-through access. The facility also features ample yard space and a private water supply, making it ready for immediate operations.

Agent Kevin O’Connell of Dominic J Daly & Co described it as a well-positioned asset with strong transport links to the Cork–Dublin motorway, the Lee Tunnel, and major trade routes. Given the licensing barriers and the site’s operational readiness, O’Connell expects interest from both domestic and UK-based buyers looking to expand recycling capacity.

An adjoining two-acre lot available for separate purchase could provide additional expansion potential.
