Ian Phillips, Director and co-founder of Anua Clean Air International, has been announced as a member of the judging panel for the Green Transformation Awards 2026, bringing over three decades of experience in biological air treatment, clean technology innovation, and the commercialisation of environmental solutions to a programme that recognises Irish organisations driving systemic change in sustainable business practice.

Phillips began his career at Bord na Móna in 1988, progressing rapidly from graduate engineer to R&D project lead with responsibility for developing biological filtration systems for air treatment.

Over the years that followed, he drove business development across Ireland and the UK, launching the award-winning Monashell biotrickling technology and expanding the Clean Air business into Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. That combination of technical innovation and international commercial development gave him a command of clean air solutions that spans laboratory-scale research, industrial-scale deployment, and global market expansion.

Between 2009 and 2015, Phillips led innovation projects focused on high-H₂S, landfill, and biogas treatment, co-inventing a portfolio of patented technologies including Mónafil, Mónashell, and Enhanced Mónashell.

In 2016, he co-founded Anua Clean Air International, where he now oversees more than 1,000 global installations, advancing clean air solutions for industrial and municipal applications across multiple continents. That depth of hands-on innovation, from patent development through to global deployment at scale, positions him as an evaluator with a practitioner's understanding of what genuine environmental transformation requires in practice.

The Green Transformation Awards 2026 spans 22 categories recognising sustainability excellence across organisation size, sector, and transformation type, with entries assessed by an independent panel bound by strict confidentiality.

Phillips joins Judging Coordinator Daragh Anglim of Broadlake, Nicholas Holden of Proveye, David Maguire of BNRG Renewables, Rosie O'Neill of An Post, and Antonio Vieira Santos of Eviden.

The awards gala will take place on 6 November 2026 at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire. Entries close on 24 July 2026.
