Green Data Centre Award
This award is open to data centres in Ireland that can demonstrate a commitment to developing sustainable business practices.
This can be either through using energy-efficient technologies, the incorporation of sustainable methods into their operations, or through encouraging consumers, staff and other firms to embrace sustainability.
The judges will want to know everything you do in order to achieve your green objectives. You must explain what you have achieved so far and what you hope to achieve in the future. And we need to see evidence of an overall strategy that sets out your targets and how you plan to achieve them and hard statistics demonstrating year-on-year comparisons.
Entry is by a 5 A4 page submission; ideally the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.
Recycling, re-use and waste minimisation
Use of “green” suppliers or materials
Energy efficiency, generation and use of renewables
Water resource efficiency
Sustainable Travel initiatives for staff, visitors and suppliers etc
Community involvement, corporate citizenship and support for the local economy
Efforts to support the training, safety, diversity, health and engagement of your staff
