Dept. Environment, Community & Local GovernmentThe Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government is pleased to support this year’s Green Awards which celebrate your commitment to protecting and improving our environment. Working together we can continue to build a sustainable, and prosperous future for Ireland, where environmental protection goes hand in hand with economic growth and job creation.

EnergiaEnergia is Ireland’s fastest growing home energy supplier and also provides electricity and gas to almost 60,000 Irish businesses.

Energia Renewables is among Ireland's leading providers of sustainable green energy and 26% of Ireland’s wind power is provided through Energia to homes and businesses.  Energia currently supplies over 1 GW of renewable energy.

Energia is committed to improving the energy efficiency of homes and businesses across Ireland, to reduce our carbon footprint and help our customers live more sustainably.  To date we have reduced the energy consumption of our business customers by over 66 million carbon tonnes, resulting in a saving of over €14 million in business energy costs.  We’ve also funded over 10,000 home efficiency upgrades, saving Irish consumers over €1.2 million on their energy bills.

Calor GasCalor works with many of businesses across Ireland, developing tailored energy solutions with them to help them improve energy and environmental efficiency.  Calor LPG is a highly versatile fuel which produces far lower carbon emissions than oil, coal, peat and even electricity. As such, it is one of the cleanest conventional fuels available.

This year, Calor will become the first Irish supplier of BioLPG, a 100% renewable energy resource. It is similar in use and performance to conventional LPG, meaning that for many companies, the transition to an environmentally-friendly energy solution has never been easier.

However, unlike conventional LPG, BioLPG is made from 100% renewable materials; approximately 60% is wastes and residues, while the remaining 40% is sustainably sourced vegetable oils. For more details contact
